The Agent Architecture Brief

Turn the prior decisions into a concise, decision-ready architecture brief.

What This Decision Controls

A useful brief identifies classification, pattern, framework category, orchestration, governance, production findings, and sourcing recommendation.

This decision affects the reliability, cost, governance burden, and operating value of the agent long after the first demonstration.

How to Evaluate It

The goal is an executable next decision, whether that is readiness work, a narrow pilot, implementation, or a decision not to proceed.

Work from a real workflow and real constraints. A technically possible design is not automatically the right operating design for your organization.

Decision Checklist

  • State the business outcome and the bounded task the agent must support.
  • Identify the accountable business owner, technical owner, and required human reviewer.
  • Confirm the data, integrations, escalation path, and metric required before a build decision.

Worked Decision Scenario

An executive sponsor asks whether to proceed with an agent for order-status exceptions. The architecture brief summarizes the bounded workflow, selected pattern, required systems, human checkpoints, production gaps, and expected outcome in one decision-ready view.

Leadership can then approve the narrow next step, such as resolving an integration dependency or running a controlled pilot, instead of approving a vague agent initiative without defined controls.
