Production Deployment

Evaluate security, observability, cost, and scale before production use.

What This Decision Controls

Production readiness includes access controls, monitoring, auditability, error handling, cost controls, and a response plan for incidents.

This decision affects the reliability, cost, governance burden, and operating value of the agent long after the first demonstration.

How to Evaluate It

An agent is ready only when its operating model is as deliberate as its prompt or workflow design.

Work from a real workflow and real constraints. A technically possible design is not automatically the right operating design for your organization.

Decision Checklist

  • State the business outcome and the bounded task the agent must support.
  • Identify the accountable business owner, technical owner, and required human reviewer.
  • Confirm the data, integrations, escalation path, and metric required before a build decision.

Worked Decision Scenario

An internal service agent performs well in a pilot, but production access would expose customer records and trigger actions in several connected systems. The team pauses launch until it has role-based access, action logs, cost limits, and incident ownership in place.

The production decision is made from an operating-readiness checklist, not from pilot accuracy alone. This ensures the system can be monitored, corrected, and supported after real users depend on it.
