The Executive Recommendation

Convert analysis into a concise recommendation leaders can act on.

Core Concept

The final brief connects the problem, recommended approach, readiness, value case, risk controls, and next step. It makes tradeoffs visible instead of hiding them in technical detail.

This choice influences the value case, implementation effort, governance requirements, and the organization’s ability to operate the system after launch.

How to Apply the Framework

A strong recommendation is specific enough to authorize the next decision, whether that is preparation, pilot, implementation, or a decision not to proceed.

Use a current workflow, its measurable baseline, and the real people and systems involved. A strategy that works only in a simplified example is not yet a decision-ready operating plan.

Decision Checklist

  • State the business outcome and the bounded workflow this decision will improve.
  • Identify the accountable business owner, technical owner, and required human reviewer.
  • Confirm the evidence, dependencies, controls, and decision gate required before moving forward.

Worked Decision Scenario

The executive team receives several automation proposals. A concise recommendation shows the chosen workflow, the expected value, readiness constraints, delivery path, controls, and the decision requested from leadership.

Because the tradeoffs are explicit, leaders can approve a focused preparation action or pilot instead of asking the team to return with another broad AI presentation.
